the longest route which directly leads to china.

Mohenjodaro:

Mohenjodaro is one of the oldest civilization of
Pakistan. It is located in Sindh. Its archaeological ruins are the examples for
its being one of the most cultural city and very ancient of the world. Many
people did their research regarding this city and came to to the concludion it

Taxila:

Taxila is also one of the ancient city of Pakistan.
This city reveals its importance by its old museum in which the ancient idols,
and sketches of those time people are placed and many other things. Taxila is
more ancient than Gandhara and it has the ruins of Gandhara city. Many tourists

Fort and Shalamar Garden In
Lahore:

4.
Pakistan tourism industry:

Although Pakistan tourism industry suffered many crisis
yet it is working for the amusement and cheerness of the tourists. It is
providing the platform and proper guidance for those tourists who are coming  from outside the country or inside the
country. It guides people and leads them to their respective place. The tourism industry
experienced extraordinary boom during the 1970s. However since the disastrous
earthquake in 2005 in which many of the tourist spots came under the rubble the
industry has been facing severe consequences. The valleys of Naran, Kaghan ,
Swat etc were totally destroyed after the 2005 earthquake. Terrorism also acted
as a hindrance to the potentially equipped tourism industry of the country.
Swat was declared as a no go area as the Taliban forces had got control over it.
It is time that Pakistan does something to revive its tourism industry which
has been marred by terrorism and natural disasters. The root to every problem
Pakistan has is terrorism, once the country is able to put a stop on terrorism,
the tourism industry would again flourish. No doubt Pakistan is one of the
biggest attraction for tourists in the world. Pakistan is in fact perfect in
regard of tourism because it has almost all those places which are very
fascinating and health giving. The beauty of Pakistan is itself example for
tourists attraction for not ony inside the country but also from different
countries of the world.  Every year not
only from inside the country bit also from other countries people come to
different amazing and charming places of Pakistan. As technology is increasing
day by day and media is also a perfect representation of the coutry tourism
side, tourism industry of Pakistan is growing day by day and tourists
curiousness is increasing for Pakistan..

As we know that Pakistan has much more in tourism.
So it will become very benefitted for its economy if tourism becomes the source
of income. Like we have many examples of it. Manila which was  lagging behind in economy, after tourism becoming
its source of income it is far ahead now. If any country has such beautiful
places where tourists are attracted then it is very benifitted for that economy
to grow and progress by leaps and bounds. As much as the tourists come in the
country they consume their money, it provides job to the natives of that place.
Then slowly it becomes their source of income. As for our country not all the
tourists attracted places are earning much more profit from the tourists coming
every year. But in some places it is very common and people earn their living
by  tourism. It plays vital role in country’s
wel being and country’s economical status. A country like Pakistan should earn
a lot from tourism which is because of its such fascinating places.According to a report by World Economic
Forum, the direct contribution of tourism industry in Pakistan in
year 2015 was Rs328 million constituting to 2.8 percent of the total GDP. The
government is making continuous efforts to promote tourism in Pakistanand
they predict that by the year 2025 tourism will contribute Rs1
trillion to Pakistan’s economy.ascinating and beautiful places.  Some tourist corporations have started working
and encouraged the government to attract tourists to Pakistan by working on several projects in the tourist
market: building and maintaining the road and air networks. The maturation of
human and natural resources can also contribute to the development of the flabby industry.

Tourism supporting
organizations in Pakistan:

There are some such organizations which work in favor
of tourism in the country. They help the tourists in visiting different places
in the country. Such as tourism developing cooperation which is for the
tourists coming in Punjab areas, culture tourism and antiquities department
working for the tourists coming to Sindh, Secretery of culture tourism, in
Baluchistan, Department of tourism works in AJK, and Tourism, sports, culture and
youth department which is playing its part in Gilgit Baltistan.

5. Role of Tourism in Pakistan’s
economic development:

As it is already discussed that tourism plays vital
role in country’s economic progress. If a country has small resources but it is
full of the places which are the keen interest or attractive for the tourists
whether from inside or outside the country, this country can progress a lot in
its economic development through tourism. Our country Pakistan has this
blessing of Allah that it is full of those places which are very attractive for
tourists and many tourists domestic or international visit these places every
year and it is very helpful in enhancing the economic development. it provides job to the natives of that place.
Then slowly it becomes their source of income. As for our country not all the
tourists attracted places are earning much more profit from the tourists coming
every year. But in some places it is very common and people earn their living
by  tourism. It plays vital role in country’s
wel being and country’s economical status. A country like Pakistan should earn
a lot from tourism which is because of its such fascinating places.

Over the past several decades, international tourism has been gaining
importance in many economies of the world. According to the World Tourism
Organisation (2002), expenditures by 693 million international tourists
traveling in 2001 totaled US $ 462 billion, roughly US $ 1.3 billion per day
worldwide. In addition, tourists spending have served as an alternative form of
exports, contributing to an ameliorated balance of payments through foreign
exchange earnings in many countries. The rapid growth of tourism led to a
growth of household incomes and government revenues directly and indirectly by
means of multiplier effects, improving balance of payments and provoking
tourism-promoted government policies. As a result, the development of tourism
has generally been considered a positive contribution to economic growth.

Pakistan is located in the middle of South Asia. It is heaven for the
tourists. Pakistan tourism’s industry didn’t flourish much. Its impact
on Pakistan economy is very small.

 Here is a short table
in which Pakistan’s earning due to tourism is shown:

S.No.

Year

Number
of tourists

Earning
in $million

1

2010

907500

306.88

2

2011

717723

351.99

3

2012

669328

366.22

4

2013

565313

296.44

If we see these figures it
can easily be concluded that the arrival of tourists decreases from 2010 to
2013. It is because of many reasons.

Reason for the decrease in
tourists number:

No doubt that GOD has blessed Pakistan with such
beautiful places and healthgiving regions, but it has estimated that number of
tourists decreased from 2010 to 2013, the one major cause of this is that
Pakistan is considered not so good in if we talk about peace in Pakistan. It
reputes as a terrorist country in the world that’s why the International
tourists mostly hesitate to visit Pakistan or even most often the domestic
tourists are also afraid to go in far away regions in the country. Pakistan
tourism industry is really facing the worst time. Not only the terrorism is the
cause of it but also there are some policies inside the country which prevent
the tourists to visit Pakistan. These anti tourism policies as well as the
terrorism, political unstability and bad reputation of Pakistanis around the
world has made tourists not to visit Pakistan. That’s why if we compare
Pakistan to other countries in aspect of tourism we clearly see that Pakistan
tourism industry is far behind others.

Europe and America or even most the countries in Asia
are earning a lot from tourism every year. Pakistan inspite of having such
beautiful places is not ahead. Tourism can give more to a country if it is
applied in some country. It can even change the economical structure of a
country if someone understands its importance .

6. What should be done in
increasing tourism in Pakistan:

As we see that this is a modern era, the era of latest
technology. People now a days have become much aware of the circumstances and
the places not even inside the country but also all around the world. So, many
things can change us.

Role of media:

Media, no doubt is playing its positive role in
introducing Pakistan’s tourism importance. It should bring more changes to its
method of convincing people to come to Pakistan.

Role of educational
institutions:

Educational institutions should spread the awareness
regarding the tourism in the countries. Colleges and university students should
practice this. Although it is happening somewhere in Pakistan but not as it
should be.

Role of individual:

It is completely understandable that not only an individual
can change the mindset of entire nation, but what if all the individuals
together bring the change. It will happen only if an individual brings a change
in itself, not depending on others. If he or she understands his/her role or
responsibility and if he/she wont say that why should I do my duty while others
are not doing, then it is possible.

7.  CONCLUSION:

In the nutshell we can say that one better option for Pakisan
to progress is to increase its trend towards tourism. It can be achieved if our
leaders and we follow the principles of patriotism, honesty, responsibility and
dignity.

So,  love Pakistan, be Pakistani, buy Pakistani,  live in Pakistan and spend your holidays in exploring
Pakistan’s beautiful places!
