Health
and safety attributes are incredibly important for an employee to have
because it is important for an employer to be certain that workers will be
safe in the working environment if they are left alone.
 
Employees
must show an awareness of health and safety procedures in relation to their
role and organisational requirements. Employers have a ‘duty of care’ to
ensure as far as possible your health, safety and welfare while you are in
their workplace.
 
Good
working procedures is valued by an employer as it shows you can take
reasonable care of your own and other’s safety and health, making sure that
you understand and follow the company’s health and safety policies. The
responsibilities of employees include:
 
·       
Not
misusing any equipment that is provided for safety purposes.
·       
Cooperating
with your employer by wearing protective clothing and if appropriate,
removing jewellery or covering long hair.
·       
Reporting
any injuries, strains or illnesses suffered because of your work. Informing
your employer of any medication that you are taking, if working with, driving
or operating machinery.

Time
management can have a significant impact on your overall performance and
productivity in the workplace. Not only will it make you a more efficient
employee, but it will also help you to meet deadlines, produce far better-quality
work and to further develop yourself. This is massively important if you want
to get yourself noticed in your work and take the next step in your career. Effective
time management skills will make you a much better employee, so it is worth
developing these skills early on.

Effective
problem-solving skills enable employees to analyse problems, identify problem
severity and assess the impact of alternative solutions. Workplace training
designed to develop problem solving skills helps employees to work more
efficiently with co-workers, customers, partners and vendors. Trained
participants learn to use available resources to resolve issues in a
constructive manner. Additionally, they practice reaching consensus by seeing
a problem from a professional, not personal, perspective. Training games,
including brainstorming activities and online business simulations, prepare
participants for workplace situations.
 
Good
problem-solving skills empower you not only in your personal life, but are
critical in your professional life. In the current fast changing global
economy, employers often identify common problem solving as crucial to the
success of their organizations. For employees, problem solving can be used to
develop practical and creative solutions and to show independence and
initiative to employers.
 
People
who have good problem-solving skills have the knowledge required to offer
possible solutions based on their experience.
