Daniel Scientists discovered new ways of finding

Instead of the same old normal geocentric model, a heliocentric model was created and used. Scientists discovered new ways of finding scientific laws. Scientists believed that our world is made out of matter. This belief could be explained by using math and conducting experiments. People that are into or work in the field of nature were separated into scientific groups and groups or teams were established to smooth up the study of scientific equations by finding the answers of those scientific questions. How did some factors affect the work of scientists in the sixteenth and seventeenth century? The factors that affected the work and views of scientists in the sixteenth and seventeenth century are political views, religious views, and social views. Many scientists during the 16th and 17th century were really supported and influenced by the government.The painting of King Louis XIV’s visit to the French Royal Academy shows the bond both scientists and the government had with science (D10). If you think about it, why is King Louie there? What is his reason for visiting the French Royal Academy? King Louie would of not been there if he wasn’t interested in science at all. Jean Baptiste Colbert also shares her her views of science in the government. During that time Jean was the French finance minister for Louis XIV. In her letter she talks about how the government created academies or schools just for science (D11). The letter that Jean wrote helps us clearly see that the government really wants science to flourish and wants to spread scientific ideas to people. That shows that they have a great impact on the views or works of scientists in the sixteenth and seventeenth century. The Catholic Church had big control over science during the 17th and 18th century. If you didn’t believe or you went against the Church’s views of science, you would be punished or even executed. Copernicus wrote to Pope Paul III about dedicating his studies to the Church. Scientists communicate with the church and shared their ideas so the church can spread their ideas throughout the country (D1). Copernicus isn’t allowed to express or share his true beliefs because he know the Church will try to punish him if his beliefs were not the same as the Catholic Church. That means the Church negatively affected many scientist’s works. Giovanni Ciampoli, an Italian Monk, wrote a letter to Galileo talking about how scientists were viewed as bad people by the Catholic Church which made many scientist’s work look really bad or negative(D3). He wanted to express his true feelings about the whole situation . Society during the time has impacted scientists in a very negative way. Women were not included in anything, most men were all scientists. Henry Oldenburg talks about that in his letter to Johannes Hevelius. He starts to talk about if we spread and expand education to more people to have more knowledge and would help philosophy grow bigger and bigger (D6). As you can see right now women are able to have any job they want and have an education. Henry shows us if women are included in things like scientific works, then they can have a very big contribution to this world. They can discover new things others never knew about. When women were not allowed to participate, it would hurt science. With women science can become better and stronger. Margaret Cavendish, a woman who was an English natural philosopher, shared her views of women including her limited or not allowed to have the same opportunities like men. She is worried about men robbing her of her place, of her job, of everything (D9). She saw women treated like leftovers in many things like science. She even saw if women were included in things like science, they can make big contributions. She want people to know women are capable of doing the same things as men. Overall, inequality affected the works of scientists in a very negative way because not the whole population was included.  As we all could see the work of scientists were positively affected by the government, political views, but negatively affected by the Catholic Church, religious views, and inequality ,social views, Today, these three factors still continued to be important parts of many works we do. Without these three factors , many works like scientific research would be really weak today.
